Painting parties have become popular lately. I have now attended three and the painting above is my latest accomplishment. It is very fitting for Halloween, don't you think?
I have always been very artistic and creative but painting has eluded me. My art teachers in school focused more on drawing and other skills such as printmaking and I have never had anyone show me the basics of how to blend color or what part to paint first, or even how to start in general. The painting parties have been a fun activity to do with friends and family. It is a nice, casual environment in which to learn and it is helpful that the instructor paints along with you. With every painting, I am gaining confidence and one day, I may attempt a composition completely on my own!
